NASCAR doesn’t usually have a full race to qualify for another race, but the Daytona 500 is unlike any week of the year. The Bluegreen Vacation Duel races will take place under the lights in prime time on Thursday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The first row of the 40-car Daytona 500 has been determined by lap qualifying, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Alex Bowman making up the front row. Bowman is in pole position for the Duel race as well and will take the green flag, but isn’t favored by oddsmakers to be near the top of the field.
Bowman is the only one out here racing with no pressure, as the rest of the field for the Daytona 500 will be determined by the order of finish on Thursday night. The winner of this race (assuming it’s not Bowman) will be second on the grid for the race on Sunday, second place will start fourth, and so on.
Still known to many NASCAR fans as the “Twin 125’s,” these races set the stage for the tremendous action to come later in the weekend at the most famous track in stock car racing. And you can take away plenty of information on who will be ready to run to the top of the field on Sunday for the Great American Race.
Here are the complete odds for the Bluegreen Vacation Duel races at DraftKings Sportsbook.
