Wide receiver rankings for XFL Week 2

We take you through some of the best wide receivers going into Week 2 of the XFL for fantasy football.

Welcome to the Week 2 XFL rankings. Thankfully we have some snap and usage numbers to help guide us this week, so if there isn’t a ton of turnover, we should be a little more honed in for Saturday and Sunday’s games.

Wide receivers and tight ends are smushed together under wide receivers, so you will notice tight ends in the rankings as well. The XFL is fairly anti-tight end, so there are a only a few that saw decent targets as it is.

Nelson Spruce was a target monster in Week 1, catching 11-of-15 targets for 103 yards. The only other receiver in the league with double-digit targets was Austin Proehl. As long as Landry Jones plays, I expect Dallas to be able to keep L.A. passing the ball, so another high-target game is a good possibility.

Cam Phillips saw nine targets in Houston’s top scoring offense and he was the most productive of the group. It could be Sammie Coates or Khalil Lewis this week, but the offense is good enough to sustain 2-3 fantasy receivers each weekend.

Dan Williams averaged 20.5 yards per reception on six receptions for Tampa Bay but wasn’t able to get into the end zone. I expect the Vipers to get into the end zone this week, as they were the highest yardage team in the league last week and Williams was the No. 1.

Mekale McKay didn’t live up to my hopes in Week one, but he did average 19.3 yards on three receptions and gets to take on a D.C. defense that gave up three touchdown passes to Brandon Silvers last week.

If DeAndre Thompkins returns this week, it could hurt Rashad Ross and Eli Rogers. And, if Kasen Williams can return, it could hurt Proehl, but we’ll cross those bridges when wwe come to them.
