It’s taken 17 weeks, but the Milwaukee Bucks are finally favorites to win the 2019-20 NBA Championship, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Bucks are at +290 to win it all, while the Lakers are second at +300 and Clippers third at +320. This could be a product of the Lakers and Clippers faltering lately.
The Clips are coming off a bad loss over the weekend to the Minnesota Timberwolves, allowing 142 points despite having a pretty healthy rotation. It’s just the regular season, so no need to overreact much, but L.A. has been inconsistent for a team so stacked. The Lakers aren’t playing great defense right now and are 6-5 in their past 11 games. The fatigue of the regular season may be getting to both teams, so the All-Star Break will be a good chance to get some rest.
The Bucks don’t appear ready to stop despite the Toronto Raptors on their tail in the East. Toronto has won 14 in a row and is somehow still 6.5 games behind the Bucks entering play Monday. Milwaukee has lost just two games in 2020 and has avoided a losing streak all season. It seems the Bucks should go the rest of the year without much competition for the No. 1 overall seed.
