The Morning Line: No. 8 Florida State vs. No. 7 Duke, No 1. Baylor vs. Texas

There’s not too many games on the college basketball slate this evening, but a few have big implications for what will happen come Selection Sunday.

The Florida State Seminoles head to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the Duke Blue Devils in a fight for ACC supremacy. This will be an high-quality win for one of these teams, and those are in short supply when you’re playing an ACC schedule this season. The Dukies are coming off one of the most unforgettable wins in their ancient rivalry with North Carolina, while FSU has won three in a row to get to 20-3, 10-2 in the ACC.

Florida State is getting 82% of the bets and 94% of the handle so far with a big number. We’ll see if the market corrects as they day continues.

The No. 1 Baylor Bears make the short trip south to Austin to battle with the Texas Longhorns, and with massive implications for the future of Shaka Smart in burnt orange. The ‘Horns are 14-9, and 4-6 in a pretty manageable Big 12 this year. They’ve played a tough schedule, but Texas fires people for missing the tournament and not making deep runs. Smart was one of the prized commodities in college coaching when he arrived, but it hasn’t really clicked. They’re only catching 5.5 points, and we’ll see if the fates can change, but they’re running out of Q1 win opportunities, and they’re not making the NCAA Tournament without them.

Baylor has 76% of the tickets and 85% of the cash backing them so far.
