The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to list running back LeSean McCoy as one of their inactives on Sunday for the 2020 Super Bowl, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. The team will announce their inactives 90 minutes before the game, so at roughly 5:00 p.m. ET.
This is not a surprising development given McCoy’s lack of use in recent weeks. He was inactive in the AFC Championship Game and played one snap in the Divisional round. His last sizable snap total was in Week 15 when he played 17 total snaps.
There had been some thought the team was resting him for the playoffs in Weeks 16 and 17, but that clear is not the case. Instead, Damien Williams has been the work horse and Darwin Thompson has been the lone alternative. Thompson is primarily a special teams player, getting one rushing attempt and one passing target in the AFC title game, and nothing in the Divisional round.
Williams is the guy for DFS purposes, and betting the over on touches is not a bad wager. McCoy will be out and Thompson is unlikely to see much work at all in the Super Bowl.
