Kenny Golladay is out for Week 14 against the Packers

Kenny Golladay’s hip injury will keep him out of Week 14

Friday update: There was some optimism early on Friday, as coach Darrell Bevell said that Golladay could play in a limited fashion if he practiced, but in the end, he didn’t practice and will be out, per Michael Rothstein. At least there is some optimism that he will practice next week and have a chance to suit up against the Tennessee Titans.

Thursday update: Golladay did not practice on Thursday and is looking like a longshot to play on Sunday against the Packers.

The Detroit Lions star wide receiver, Kenny Golladay, won’t practice on Wednesday, per Justin Rogers. Golladay was forced from their Week 8 matchup with a hip injury and has yet to return to the field. He was listed as a limited participant in a single practice a couple weeks ago, but nothing since. He has not been put on injured reserve, which could show that he had a setback of some kind, but there have been no reports to confirm that theory.

At this point, it’s difficult to believe Golladay will be back this week or even next week, but without anything to go on other than missed practices, we are in the dark as to his future status. While Golladay has been out, Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson have taken on extra work and have been useful fantasy players.

This week the Lions take on the Green Bay Packers, who they played in Week 2, also without Golladay. Jones found the end zone in that matchup while Hockenson had four receptions for 62 yards and D’Andre Swift, who should return this week, caught five passes for 60 yards as the receiving back in that matchup.
