Best available tight ends on the Week 14 waiver wire

There are a few tight ends widely available that either have favorable matchups heading into Week 14, had successful Week 13 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are five tight ends with under 50% ownership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 14.

Cole Kmet, Bears (1 percent)

Next up — HOU, @MIN, @JAX

Kmet has taken over the lead role in Chicago and ended up seeing seven targets and scoring a touchdown against the Lions last week. That kind of target load is something to perk tight end streamers ears up, especially considering the Bears have a good schedule coming up.

Dalton Schultz, Cowboys (20 percent)

Next up — @CIN, SF, PHI

Schultz isn’t going to be a big play tight end, but he gets a great matchup this week against the Bengals. Cincinnati ranks second to last in fantasy points allowed to the position and Andy Dalton has shown an affinity for Schultz around the goal line.

Jordan Reed, 49ers (26 percent)

Next up — WSH, @DAL, @ARI

Until George Kittle returns, Reed will have good upside for a tight end. He hasn’t put up the numbers he’s capable of, but if I’m taking a flyer on a tight end, I like Reed over much of the rabble out there.

Anthony Firkser, Titans (9 percent)

Next up — @JAX, DET, @GB

Firkser’s value depends on Jonnu Smith’s availability moving forward, but if Smith misses more time, the Titans schedule looks good for Firkser to be a steady fantasy tight end.

Drew Sample, Bengals (1 percent)

Next up — DAL, PIT, @HOU

Sample’s upside is nil with Brandon Allen at quarterback. but his PPR floor could be on the rise with Allen checking down so much. Sample caught all seven of his targets last week for a measly 49 yards, but that’s still 12 PPR points. With Dallas on the docket, another PPR game like that could be in the works.
