Jalen Hurts an intriguing Week 14 waiver wire option after Carson Wentz benched

Jalen Hurts stood out in Sunday’s contest as a potential early waiver wire option for Week 14 after near comeback win versus Packers.

Jalen Hurts season is upon us. The Philadelphia Eagles backup has mostly been used as a change-of-pace option who relieves Carson Wentz under center but had the best game of his career in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. Hurts nearly led the Eagles’ impressive late-game surge and could be a worthwhile waiver wire target ahead of Week 14.

Hurts was 5-of-11 passing for 109 yards and a score and a pick. He also showcased his mobility and ran for 29 yards on five carries. Those numbers aren’t great but he played much better than Wentz, who was 6-of-15 passing for 79 yards. Hurts adds more excitement to the Eagles offense. While there’s no guarantee that he’ll start against the New Orleans Saints next Sunday he’s readily available and only rostered in X percent of ESPN leagues. He could be viable against the Arizona Cardinals or Dallas Cowboys if he gets the starting nod in the coming weeks.
