Travis Kelce is that rare bird in fantasy football, the explosive tight end with a high ceiling, a guy who still puts up points even in a down week. He’s been overshadowed a bit in the Kansas City Chiefs offense lately by wide receiver Tyreek Hill, but he’s still the clear second choice for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He has a good matchup this week against the Broncos too.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce
Kelce caught all eight targets last week for 82 yards. That snapped a three-game streak with at least 100 yards, but there’s only so much to do when Hill is rolling for 269 yards and three touchdowns. That was also the first time in three games where Kelce saw fewer than 10 targets, but remember, that’s still worlds better than anyone else at the tight end position this season.
The Broncos did a good job containing Kelce the last time these two teams squared off back in Week 7. He had just three catches for 31 yards. Still, I wouldn’t read too much into it. The Broncos will have to sell out to contain Hill this week. Besides, with the kind of ceiling Kelce is capable of, you can’t afford to leave him out of the starting lineup.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
