What to do with Philip Rivers in Week 13 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Philip Rivers ahead of the Colts Week 13 matchup against the Texans.

Philip Rivers is dealing with a toe injury that seemed to impact him a bit in Week 12. He missed two days of practice before getting in a Friday practice and then playing on Sunday. He had a similar workload in Week 13 and is on track to play on Sunday.

In spite of the injury, you could do worse than having Philip Rivers in your lineup this week. Rivers threw two touchdown passes last week against the Titans and three the week before that against Green Bay. He had 288 and 295 yards, respectively, in those two games as well. That’s now four out of his last six games where he’s had multiple touchdowns.

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts QB Philip Rivers

The Colts are traveling to Houston for the first of two games against the Texans this season. It’s a decent enough matchup for Rivers, that he makes a solid streaming play this week or down the stretch if you need a quarterback with a high enough floor (and a low ceiling).

Houston’s done a solid job defending opposing signal callers over their last four games, but they’ve not faced very good quarterbacks—Cam Newton was the best of the four they played during that stretch. Jacoby Brissett is now taking some snaps from Rivers at the goal line, which does limit Rivers’ ceiling some, but it’s a bigger issue for the Colts’ running game. Rivers is a passable streaming option this week with a favorable schedule the rest of the way.
