Picking stud defenses can be extremely hard when it comes it fantasy football. It’s often hit or miss. We have our eyes on two D/STs that could put up strong numbers in Week 13 and two that could flop. Here are are some ideal plays and fades ahead of the action.
D/ST Starts
Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Jets
Every defense gets a boost against the Jets. The lowest-scoring team in the NFL has scored 10 points or less six times this year. I’m not saying the Raiders are amazing defensively but the dominated the Denver Broncos not long ago and will but up against an offensive line that’s riddled with injuries.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals
Only the Kansas City Chiefs have accumulated more yardage on offense than the Cardinals, but Arizona’s most important player hasn’t been at 100 percent. Murray is dealing with a shoulder injury and will be up against one of the toughest pass defenses in the NFL. He likely won’t have much time to throw against a Rams defense that’s fourth in the league with 34 sacks.
D/ST Sits
Minnesota Vikings vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars were effective running and throwing the football with Mike Glennon under center against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. Minnesota has given up the second-most passing touchdowns (23) in the NFL and Jacksonville could benefit from the return of D.J. Chark, who was ruled out for Week 12 because of a rib injury.
New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are only 3-8 but have no trouble moving the football. They rank third in total yards on offense and Justin Herbert ranks third in passing yards per game (301.5). The return of Austin Ekeler should continue to inject life into Los Angeles’s offense and the Patriots should have a hard time holding them off at SoFi Stadium.
