What to do with Melvin Gordon in Week 13 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Melvin Gordon ahead of the Broncos Week 13 matchup against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Game day update: Phillip Lindsay is listed as questionable on the final injury report, but is expected to play. ESPN currently projects Lindsay with 7.1 points and Melvin Gordon with 10.3 points in PPR leagues.

The Denver Broncos couldn’t do much running last week against the Saints, thanks mostly to starting a quarterback who wasn’t a quarterback. This week things look a little better for Denver’s ground game with the return of Drew Lock, but it’s still a difficult fantasy week for Melvin Gordon in a game that’s likely to be a very one-sided affair.

Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos RB Melvin Gordon III

Gordon is the team’s preferred running back, despite there being a good case to make for Phillip Lindsay as the better player. Last week against the Saints, he had 12 carries for 31 yards, a letdown after a big day the week before that saw him run for 84 yards on 15 carries while scoring twice.

Lindsay missed practice on Wednesday this week, but returned in a limited role, pointing to him playing this week. That further reduces Gordon’s fantasy value against the Chiefs. Because the Broncos go to Gordon at the goal line, there’s some value for him this week as a RB3 or Flex, but I’d check for better options first.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Melvin Gordon at RB3 or Flex.
