Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, which makes for a tricky decision for fantasy owners. What should they be doing with Fitzgerald and fellow receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk? Let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals WRs DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Larry Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald has missed last week’s game after testing positive, which was a 20-17 loss to the New England Patriots. Hopkins caught five of the seven targets that went his way for 55 yards, and Christian Kirk caught just three of six targets for 19 yards. In addition, Andy Isabella caught four of six targets for 33 yards.
Arizona’s wide receiver group will match up against the Los Angeles Rams, which come into this game allowing the third fewest passing yards per game in college football at 203.5 behind only the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Football Team. In their last time out, the Rams allowed 252 passing yards to Nick Mullens on 24 of 35 passing. The San Francisco 49ers top receiver was Deebo Samuel, who caught 11 of 13 targets for 133 yards.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Hopkins is likely a low-end wide receiver No. 1 going into this matchup with or without Fitzgerald. Since Fitzgerald hasn’t even practiced since Nov. 25, he and the rest of the Cardinals wideouts can remain on the bench for fantasy purposes.
