Game status: Ben Roethlisberger is ACTIVE as expected for Week 13 in spite of the knee injury.
The Pittsburgh Steelers face the Washington Football Team on Monday, and they are dealing with a significant question. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did not practice this week and is listed as questionable on the team’s final Week 13 injury report.
Roethlisberger is listed as “Not Injury Related/Knee” on the final status report and there has been no updated on what the NRI notation is about. We could speculate on a whole host of reasons non-injury reasons, but it would be guess-work. I suspect we’ll hear something on Sunday when the national media report updates on the various questionable players.
If Roethlisberger does not play, Mason Rudolph would get the start against a Washington defense that has given up the 11th fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Washington has a stout pass rush, and it will create problems for whomever is the starting quarterback.
If you are relying on Roethlisberger for your fantasy team, it’s worth seeing what Sunday morning brings before making potential roster moves. If we have no new information, either roll with a backup or potentially be ready to add Mason Rudolph or Tuesday-playing Andy Dalton if need be.
