How and what to watch for UNLV vs. Kansas State

The Runnin’ Rebels will try to snatch their first victory of the season on Saturday when they take on the Wildcats.

The UNLV Rebels will be trying get their first win of the regular season when they play Kansas State Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET in Manhattan, KS.

The Rebels (0-4) suffered a tough 77-73 loss earlier this week to the Davidson Wildcats in the Maui Invitational after being down 12 points at halftime. UNLV only had two players in double figures, with guard Bryce Hamilton scoring a game-high 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Davidson had four players in double figures, all coming from their starting lineup.

The Runnin’ Rebels did not a good job on the glass, getting out-rebounded 36-25 by the Wildcats and sending Davidson to the line 31 times. However UNLV only had eight turnovers, which played a major role in making a second-half push.

As for Kansas State (1-2), they barely defeated Missouri-Kansas City 62-58 on Monday for their first win this season. The Wildcats had three players score in double figures, with Nijel Pack and DaJuan Gordon posting 14 points a piece. K-State also shot the ball well from the field at 47.4 percent, comparison to the Roos who shot 44.9 percent. The Wildcats also shot 46.2 percent from three-point range and won the rebounding battle 31-21.
