A middleweight bout is the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday, as Jack Hermansson will take on Marvin Vettori Saturday in Las Vegas, and available on ESPN+.
The 32-year-old Hermansson walks into the octagon with a professional fighting record of 21-5, and is currently ranked fourth in the UFC’s middleweight rankings. Hermansson was scheduled to fight Darren Till on Saturday, but Till dropped out because of injury. Hermansson’s next opponent was Kevin Holland, however, he tested positive for COVID-19 on Nov. 28.
This is the Swedish fighter’s second bout in 2020, as at UFC Fight Night 172 in July Hermansson defeated Kelvin Gastelum in Round 1 via heel hook. As for Vettori, he comes UFC APEX with a professional fighting record of 15-4-1 and three-match winning streak. Ranked 13th in the UFC at middleweight, the 27-year-old from Italy will fight in the octagon for the second time in 2020. Vettori fought this summer at UFC on ESPN 10 against Karl Roberson. “The Italian Dream” defeated Roberson in Round 1 by submission using a rear-naked choke.
Vettori lands 4.33 strikes per minute with an accuracy of 43 percent. The southpaw also absorbs more strikes per minute than Hermansson at 2.76, but the 27-year-old’s defense is at 67 percent.
