The Carolina Panthers will be without both Christian McCaffrey and Mike Davis in their season finale, per ESPN’s David Newton. Davis has been a solid player this season, as he subbed in for McCaffrey in all but two games this year. He ended up topping 1,000 scrimmage yards on the year.
For their final matchup this year, they’ll face the New Orleans Saints, who still have a shot at the No. 1 seed while also are assured the No. 2 seed with a win. The Panthers will likely go with Rodney Smith at running back, who had nine touches last week with Davis out of the game. The matchup with the Saints isn’t a good one for Smith, but he should get the bulk of the work.
The Panthers should also get Curtis Samuel involved as a runner, much like he has been all season. He would be the preferred play over Smith in fantasy.
