What’s left of the Florida Gators and the Oklahoma Sooners will kick off the New Year’s Six today in the Cotton Bowl live from Jerry World in Arlington, Texas.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point Spread

Right now the Oklahoma Sooners are 6.5-point favorites, with 70% of the handle and 53% of the bets behind them.

Is the public right? Probably, because the Gators roster has been decimated by injuries and opt-outs. Covid-19 tests, the NFL Draft, it’s all coming together to make a win for OU look a lot easier. But missing Kyle Pitts, James Copeland, Kadarius Toney, Trevon Grimes... it’s likely too much for Florida to overcome.

Over/Under

The total is set at 68, with 39% of the handle and 72% of the bets on the over.

Is the public right? How’s Florida going to score without anyone to catch a pass? We’ll be on the under here.

Moneyline

Oklahoma is a -225 favorite, with 52% of the handle and 47% of the bets backing them.

Is the public right? Probably. The Gator defense has been suspect all year, and they’re missing all the best parts of their potent offense. This could get out of hand in a hurry.

Cotton Bowl: Florida vs. Oklahoma

Opening line: Florida -3
Current line: Oklahoma -6.5

You will rarely see a swing that large in any football game, much less one that kind of matters. But it makes sense as how in the heck is UF going to react being down an entire pass-catching core? It also doesn’t help that a lot of those players are going to be NFL picks, with Pitts for sure a first half of the first round talent.
