Kyler Murray limited by shoulder injury heading into Week 13

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is dealing with a shoulder injury that limited him against the Patriots in Week 12, and could be a problem in Week 13 against the Rams. We break down what it means for fantasy football.

The Arizona Cardinals are back at practice, preparing for a huge Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Quarterback Kyler Murray was at the team’s first practice on Wednesday, but was listed as limited due to a right shoulder injury.

Murray injured the shoulder two weeks ago in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the game and played last week against the New England Patriots, but he seemed limited. He only ran the ball five times vs. the Patriots after running five times against the Seahawks. Prior to the Seahawks game, he had run the ball at least ten times in four straight games.

Even without extensive rushing opportunities, Murray remains incredibly productive. He picked up 31 yards on the five runs against the Patriots, netting fantasy football managers three points before accounting for his passing. He struggled in that regard against the Patriots, throwing for 170 yards and an interception while taking two sacks.

This week he faces a Rams defense that has given up the second fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and is fourth in total points allowed to opposing offenses. This is going to be a tough one for him, and while he remains worth a start given his legs, his upside is limited by his shoulder.
