Best available D/STs on the Week 17 waiver wire

Looking for help at D/ST? We take a look at three teams’ units widely available in Yahoo! leagues for the final week of the regular season.

There are a few D/STs widely available that either have good matchups heading into Week 17, or had successful Week 16 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are three D/STs with under 60% rostership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 17.

Arizona Cardinals D/ST (43 percent)

Next up — at Rams

Jared Goff had surgery on his broken thumb, so we will see John Worford behind center for the Rams. Worford has never thrown a pass in the NFL and this game is huge for both teams, as a win secures a playoff spot. The Cardinals also have 17 sacks in their last three games and should give the inexperienced Worford fits.

New England Patriots D/ST (45 percent)

Next up — Jets

Sam Darnold has completed just 58.8 percent of his passes, has eight touchdowns to nine interceptions and two lost fumbles. The Patriots defense is suspect, but targeting the Jets with your D/ST is never a bad idea.

Minnesota Vikings D/ST (40 percent)

Next up — at Lions

We saw what the Lions offense could do without Matthew Stafford last week and it wasn’t pretty. Stafford doesn’t look good to go this week and as long as he’s out, the Vikings have a good shot at putting up D/ST points against Chase Daniel.
