How Rams can clinch a playoff berth in Week 17

The Rams sit in the No. 6 seed heading into Week 17. We break down what they need to do to close out a playoff spot, and where they could land in the 2021 NFL playoff bracket.

The Los Angeles Rams lost out on a chance to win the NFC West in Week 16, but they can still get into the 2021 NFL playoffs in Week 17. The 9-6 Rams will clinch a wild card berth if they beat or tie the Cardinals at home or if the Bears lose or tie their home finale with the Packers.

The Rams cannot win the division, but could still end up anywhere between the No. 5 and No. 7 seeds. If the Rams win and the Buccaneers lose to the Falcons, LA claims the No. 5 seed. If the Rams beat the Cardinals and the Bucs win or Rams-Cardinals ends in a tie, the Rams claim the No. 6 seed. If the Rams lose to the Cardinals and the Bears lose or tie in their finale, LA claims the No. 7 seed.

It’s been an up-and-down season for LA. They entered the season with the third best odds to win the NFC West at DraftKings Sportsbook, installed at +550. Their odds to earn any kind of playoff berth were +149.
