A.J. Dillon: Early waiver wire option in Week 17 after breakout performance

A.J. Dillon stood out in Sunday’s contest as a potential early waiver wire option in Week 17.

Green Bay Packers rookie running back A.J. Dillon had a breakout performance in primetime against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Dillon received a bulk of the carries at snowy Lambeau Field as starting running back Aaron Jones was limited by a hip injury that he suffered in the first half.

With Jones banged up and no Jamaal Williams, the rookie running back out of Boston College led the way with a game-high 124 rushing yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. It was an impressive performance from the rookie, who only had 115 rushing yards on 24 carries coming into the Week 16 contest. Overall, the Packers did a great job running the ball, which was spearheaded by Dillon. As previously mentioned Jones was hindered by a hip injury, but still managed 94 yards on 10 carries, along with two receptions for 14 yards.

That being said, Dillon might be a solid, low-priority waiver wire pickup, especially if the Packers sit Jones in Week 17. Dillon is currently rostered in only seven percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.
