What to do with Marcus Mariota in Week 16 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Marcus Mariota ahead of the Raiders Week 16 matchup against the Dolphins.

The Las Vegas Raiders are going to be without their regular starting quarterback, Derek Carr, for at least a couple weeks. In his place, the team will turn to backup Marcus Mariota, who will make his first start of the season for a Saturday night game against the Miami Dolphins. Is he worth a spot in your fantasy lineup this week?

Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders QB Marcus Mariota

Mariota played pretty well in relief last Thursday against the Chargers. After taking over for an injured Carr, he came on and threw for 226 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He added another 88 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Dolphins defense is a tougher unit than what Mariota faced last week. They’ve given up just three passing touchdowns in their last five games, while picking off opposing quarterbacks eight times during that stretch. What Mariota brings in the ground game helps give him some fantasy appeal. Miami let Kyler Murray roll up 106 yards and a rushing score back in Week 9. He also had three passing touchdowns in that one.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Mariota is a decent flyer this week if you need a streamer.
