Julio Jones officially ruled out for Week 16

Falcons WR Julio Jones is out for Week 16 and seems unlikely to come back in Week 17.

In news that surprises nobody, the Atlanta Falcons have ruled out wide receiver Julio Jones for their Week 16 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jones has been out since aggravating his hamstring in Week 13 and has yet to return to practice.

Jones has said he does not want to shut down for the season, but we’re running out of weeks and it’s hard to see him getting back for Week 17. And for fantasy football purposes, Week 16 is the most important week for most leagues. You can release him in re-draft leagues if you were holding on for any reason.

Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage will be Matt Ryan’s top two receivers as Atlanta looks to hang with the explosive Chiefs offense. Laquon Treadwell could get some looks, but is not of fantasy value at this point. Ridley is a strong start and Gage is a solid start in most formats.
