What to do with Drew Brees in Week 16 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Drew Brees ahead of the Saints Week 16 matchup against the Vikings.

How Drew Brees managed to get back on the field after breaking a gaggle of ribs back in Week 10 is beyond the scope of this post. Still, he was out there in Week 15 for a big one against the Chiefs, and despite some ugly numbers, he managed to put up solid fantasy points. This week, he’ll face a Vikings defense that’s been pretty solid against quarterbacks lately.

Fantasy Football analysis: Saints QB Drew Brees

Brees’ fantasy numbers turned out okay last week thanks to three touchdown passes. He did have one interception as well, and given his struggles with accuracy, it’s lucky he didn’t have more. The veteran quarterback completed just 44 percent of his throws, 15 of 34 attempts. Throwing the ball clearly was a struggle for Brees.

Minnesota hasn’t allowed an opposing quarterback to throw for multiple touchdowns in three of their last four games. Nobody’s had more than 300 passing yards since Week 9, and the Vikings have nine picks in their last seven games.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

There are worse options than Brees this week, but there’s a low ceiling on his fantasy expectations for this one.
