2020 Heisman Trophy Nominees Announced

The Top 10 players as voted on by the media have been announced, with four final nominees participating in a virtual ceremony for the biggest prize in college football

Four players are on the final list as nominees for the 2020 Heisman Trophy. In alphabetical order they are:

Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama
Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

Jones finished the 2020 regular season with 3,739 yards and 32 touchdowns with just four interceptions for the Crimson Tide. His top target was Smith, who made some breathtaking catches among his 98 receptions for 1,511 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Lawrence was the preseason favorite, but missed two games during the 2020 season due to Covid-19. Despite playing just nine games, he finishes with 2,753 yards and 22 touchdowns passing with just four interceptions. Trask had two losses on the season, but was the leading passer in America with 4,125 and an eye-popping 43 touchdowns with just five interceptions.

The Heisman Trophy Trust also unveiled the top 10 players by voting using a rankings reveal show on ESPN. Here are the Top 10 players receiving votes for the 2020 Heisman Trophy that will not be nominees:

5: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
6: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
7: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
8: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
9: Ian Book, QB, Notre Dame
10: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
