Thursday update: Ronald Jones has been formally ruled out for Week 16 vs. the Lions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones looks like he won’t be able to play in Week 16 due to Covid-19, per the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud. Stroud reports that the timetable for Jones to get through protocol in time to face the Lions just doesn’t work out in his favor.

Jones missed last week due to Covid-19 and Leonard Fournette took over the lead role and rushed 14 times for 49 yards and two touchdowns, adding three receptions on five targets for 16 yards against a good Falcons run defense. LeSean McCoy caught three passes and Ke’Shawn Vaughn had two rushing attempts. There was no doubt the Fournette was the lead dog.

This week Fournette will get a much better matchup against the Lions poor run defense and there’s a real chance he helps some fantasy teams to a win in their championships this week. He’s also just $5,500 on the three-game Saturday slate at DraftKings.
