The South Carolina Gamecocks are taking full advantage of there being no such thing as bowl eligibility in this postseason when they take on the UAB Blazers in the Gasparilla Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 26. This game will take place in Tampa, Florida and will kick off at noon ET. It can be seen on ABC and the WatchESPN app.

How they got here
South Carolina became the first Power 5 conference team to fire its head coach this season when Will Muschamp was let go after starting the season with a 2-5 record. Mike Bobo has taken over, but the Gamecocks lost all three games since for a 2-8 record this season.
While it was a pretty bad season for South Carolina, UAB is coming off a Conference USA Championship as they defeated Marshall on Dec. 18. The Dragons finished their season with a 6-3 overall record including 3-1 in conference play. UAB did not play in a game in the entire month of November with games getting canceled due to Covid-19 reasons.
