What to do with Tony Pollard in Week 15 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Tony Pollard ahead of the Cowboys Week 15 matchup against the 49ers.

Ezekiel Elliott is out this week against the San Francisco 49ers in a surprise move Sunday morning. That will give Tony Pollard a chance to get the lead work and have some fantasy upside, despite a tough matchup.

Elliot has averaged only 10.2 points per game since Dak Prescott went down, so the position as a whole has taken a hit. We can’t expect huge numbers, but Pollard is a good back and will now get a full workload.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys RB Tony Pollard

The 49ers run defense is good, but with a shaky quarterback in Nick Mullens, they have been put in poor spots defensively at times. Over the last eight games, San Francisco has been middle of the pack in PPR fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Pollard has also put up better efficiency stats than Elliott, as he’s averaged 4.5 to Elliot’s 3.9 yards per carry. I think we can count on a similar type of game from Pollard as we would have with Elliott, but with more guaranteed touches in a tough matchup.
