What to do with Daniel Jones in Week 15 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Daniel Jones ahead of the Giants Week 15 matchup against the Browns on Sunday Night Football.

Game status: Daniel Jones is INACTIVE, which means Colt McCoy will get the start vs. the Browns.

After a brief run as the NFC East leaders, the New York Giants have again fallen back due last week’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals. That game, which saw Daniel Jones return from injury, highlighted the second-year quarterback’s deficiencies as well as the issues plaguing the offense as a whole.

Fantasy Football analysis: Giants QBs Daniel Jones, Colt McCoy

While Jones suited up a week ago, it remains uncertain whether he will do so for Sunday’s tilt with the Cleveland Browns. Officially, the Giants list their young signal-caller as questionable with both hamstring and ankle injuries. When pressed for details on Friday, head coach Joe Judge simply said the staff will “see how D.J. is feeling” on game day and make a final determination. On Saturday, Jeremy Fowler reported the team was “trending” toward starting Colt McCoy, per Jeremy Fowler, but that could still change.

If Jones does manage to play, he will almost certainly lack the mobility that makes up a significant part of his game. As a more limited pocket passer, Jones doesn’t offer the Giants nearly as much upside, and the same applies for fantasy managers. Last week, he completed less than half of his 22 passes for 127 yards and no touchdowns. Jones did run six times for 52 yards, but that seems difficult to replicate in his current state.

Furthermore, the Browns defense has yielded only modest production to signal-callers this season. Even a healthy Jones would likely endure issues in this matchup.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Sit Daniel Jones and Colt McCoy, regardless of who starts.
