New England Patriots second-year running back Damien Harris has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Dolphins. Sony Michel has missed time this season with an injury and being on the COVID-19 list, but will now take over the lead role, while James White is back doing what he does best, being the team’s receiving back.
With all that being said, which running backs should you start this week in the second round of the fantasy football playoffs? Let’s discuss it below!
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots RBs Sony Michel, James White
With Harris out, there are quite a few touches available to Michel. So far, he hasn’t done much in his two games back from injury. Since returning from his quad injury, Michel hasn’t had much luck against the Chargers and Rams defenses, rushing 17 times for 55 yards and catching 1-of-2 targets for 23 yards. But he will get a big bump in usage against the Dolphins, who rank 23rd in rush defense DVOA, but have allowed a rushing touchdown to a running back in just five of their 13 games this season.
James White should be in line for a bump, but he sure isn’t getting the workload through the passing game we’d like with Cam Newton in there. He could be worth a play in GPPs, but it’s hard to rely on him in the fantasy playoffs.
