There just isn’t much to like about the New York Jets offense, whether you’re a fan of the team or looking at one of their players to use in a critical fantasy football playoff game this week. This week the Jets will be a live action practice squad for the Los Angeles Rams, and it’s not a great matchup for their wide receivers. Let’s take a look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets WR Breshad Perriman, Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims
A game-time call last week, Crowded managed to play, but he only produced seven yards, still clearly affected by a calf injury. He was back at practice in the later part of this week, albeit in a limited role, and he should be on the field again this week. Perriman has 48 yards in his last two games.
Mims is back after missing last week’s game for personal reasons. He’s been the team’s best receiver recently. He had 40 yards in his last outing, in Week 13 against the Raiders. He and Crowder are the most viable fantasy options among this group this week. Still, neither player is anything more than a WR4 against a Rams defense that’s been the NFL’s best at preventing wide receivers from scoring fantasy points.
Making things worse is the awful play from Sam Darnold, who hasn’t topped 200 yards in his last five games, and has just two touchdowns in that span. So it’s a question of where the receivers will get their fantasy points. And Darnold’s also going to have to deal with Aaron Donald.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Denzel Mims is worth a start at WR4. Sit Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman.
