Both Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray have shown fantasy promise in the last four weeks with Taysom Hill under center. But with Kamara now getting the hot hand and Drew Brees returning to action, it might not be worth it to look Murray’s way against Kansas City in Week 15.
Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray
Kamara finally was given the receiving workload that all fantasy managers have been waiting to see him get last week since Taysom Hill became the Saints’ starter in Week 10. Kamara has been known to do most of his damage as a receiver, and it was disappointing to see him get just six total targets from Week 11 to Week 13. But in Week 14’s loss to Philadelphia, Kamara’s 10-target, seven-reception, 22.40-point performance was a promising sight to see. He’s also led Murray in rushing attempts for the past two weeks, as he found the end zone last week on the ground. Kamara’s fantasy production has risen in two consecutive games, making him a reliable start in a must-watch Week 15 game against the Chiefs. Now with the return of Brees, fantasy owners can look forward to Kamara’s high ceiling in which he averaged 27.95 points from Week 1 to Week 8.
Murray, who had the hot hand in Week 12’s en route to a 25.60 fantasy-point performance, has been cooled down in consecutive weeks, averaging just 2.70 points in the span. The Chiefs have held opponents to under 100 total yards rushing in three of the last five games and, after seeing Kamara’s production get back to normal, it’s tough to rely on Murray, especially in the fantasy playoffs.
