You might think that with the Houston Texans hurting for wide receiver help the team’s tight ends might offer some upside in fantasy football. But you would be wrong to make that assumption. Even without Brandin Cooks in the lineup last week Jordan Akins and Darren Fells combined for four catches and 35 yards. Their fantasy outlook this week isn’t much better.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans TEs Jordan Akins, Darren Fells
Despite seeing six targets last week, Akins caught just three passes for 20 yards. One of those targets was a touchdown pass he failed to bring in. Fells caught one ball for 15 yards, which is one more catch than he’s had in either of his last two games. When the Texans played the Colts back in Week 13, Akins was targeted three times, catching two passes for 10 yards.
Despite the lure of some red zone looks, there’s just no fantasy appeal for Akins this week. Fells too, in case that wasn’t obvious.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Jordan Akins and Darren Fells.
