The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers have been hard to gauge this season. It’s tough to predict who will have a big game on a weekly. One week he could be rookie Chase Claypool, and then the next week could belong to JuJu Smith-Schuster or Diontae Johnson. Which wide receiver should you put in your fantasy football lineup this week? Let’s break it down.
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool
In last week’s 26-15 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Diontae Johnson was the team’s leading receiver with four receptions (seven targets) for 40 yards. However, JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington were the players to score touchdowns for the Steelers.
Meanwhile, Chase Claypool was held to three receptions (six targets) for 15 yards. In the Steelers’ last three games, Claypool has 11 receptions (19 targets) for 105 yards. He’s also averaging 3.5 fantasy points per game during that time.
With all that being said, which Steelers’ wide receiver should you trust on Sunday against the Bengals? I’d lean towards Johnson, who has 20 receptions (32 targets) for 157 yards and a touchdown. Against the Bengals in Week 10, the second-year wideout had six receptions (11 targets) for 116 yards and a touchdown.
But also, do not forget about Smith-Schuster, who has recorded three touchdowns in the Steelers’ last five games.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start — JuJu Smith-Schuster as a WR2
Start — Diontae Johnson as a WR2/WR3
Sit — Chase Claypool
