Game status: Samuel is ACTIVE for Week 15.

Saturday update: Samuel’s hamstring tightened up on Friday according to beat writer Joe Person. There appears to be some concern going into tonight’s game.

A rather concerning injury situation has brewed up in Carolina late in the week. On Thursday, the Panthers added wide receiver Curtis Samuel to the official injury report with a questionable designation.

Late week additions to the injury report are always fraught, for both the team and fantasy football. It’s listed as a hamstring injury. He was practicing Tuesday and Wednesday, but had a limited designation on Thursday. Given the paucity of news about his status for a Saturday night tilt with the Packers, it’s a situation that you’ll have to keep a close eye on through the day.

Fantasy impact: Curtis Samuel (hamstring)

Samuel is having a career year, and he’s the only receiver in the NFL with more than 500 receiving yards and 130+ rushing yards. Last week, he caught seven passes on nine targets for 68 yards, adding another 22 yards on the ground. He’s got three touchdowns in his last six games, and he’s had 68 receiving yards or more in four of his last five.

He would obviously be a valuable fantasy addition this week since the Panthers will again be without Christian McCaffrey. Keep an eye on his status, and check back for updates.
