The Las Vegas Raiders host the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football to start off Week 15. The Raiders sit in second place in the AFC West at 7-6, way behind the Chiefs. But they still have a chance to stamp their ticket to the playoffs, but much like last season, they will likely need to win their last three games.
The Chargers come into this game at 4-9 with a rookie quarterback in Justin Herbert, who has proven he belongs in this league. Like all Chargers teams, they have had trouble winning close games but did manage to beat the Atlanta Falcons on a game-winning field goal last week.
Below, we will look at some of the fantasy plays that make the most sense for this week while we navigate the fantasy football playoffs.
Start
Derek Carr, QB, Raiders
Carr has had two good bounce back fantasy days since his awful game in Atlanta. He now gets a Chargers defense that has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season. Carr did face these Chargers in Week 9, but wasn’t asked to do much as the running game got them out to a quick lead. But he did throw two touchdowns and looked like he would have put up strong numbers with a better game-script.
Nelson Agholor, WR, Rams
Agholor’s inconsistency should be worrisome in the fantasy playoffs, but his target numbers have looked good of late, with nine or more in three of his last four. And now Henry Ruggs will be out due to Covid-19, which should solidify a good workload for Agholor, who has seven touchdowns on the season.
Sit
Mike Williams, WR, Chargers
This game sets up well for most of the skill position players this week, but Williams is just too inconsistent and he’s hurting. Those are two pieces you don’t want any part of in your fantasy playoffs. Williams has had some big games this season, and if healthy, is always a strong GPP play in DFS, but he looks like a fade this week.
Hunter Renfrow, WR, Raiders
With Ruggs out, Renfrow could see enough targets to have a decent PPR floor, but even with those targets, his upside remains low. Renfrow hasn’t topped 90 yards on the season and has just two touchdowns. We’ll likely see him as a sleeper play across the internet, but he’s just too sleepy for me.
