Friday update: The Falcons have ruled out Julio Jones for Week 15, per Jason Butt.
Thursday update: Jones remains out for practice, per D. Orlando Ledbetter. Jones could still play even if he doesn’t practice on Friday, but I’d rather he does before starting him in the fantasy playoffs.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was unable to practice on Wednesday due to his hamstring injury, per the team. Jones missed last week and is considered week-to-week. Coach Raheem Morris told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter on Wednesday:
We’ll take Julio as far as we can take him each week to see if we can get him to play and be productive. If we can’t, we’ll just have to move on for that week and give him another opportunity the following week. We’ll see where he is this week.
The Falcons host the Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, which has been a good matchup for receivers of late. If Jones can’t go, Calvin Ridley would once again become a high upside start in a good matchup.
Jones looks like he will end his amazing 1,300 receiving yards streak at six seasons. At this point, he has caught 51 of 68 targets for 771 yards and three touchdowns.
