James Conner reportedly out on MNF for Week 15

The Steelers hope to get their running game on track against the Bengals, but it won’t be with James Conner.

Monday update: James Conner will not suit up on Monday night, per Adam Schefter. That will give Benny Snell the start in a good matchup.

Friday update: The Steelers upgraded Conner to limited on Friday, per Brian Batko.

Thursday update: Conner wasn’t able to practice on Thursday, per DKPittsburgh Sports’ Dave Lolley. Conner suffered a quad injury Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills. If he is unable to play on Monday night against the Bengals, we will see Benny Snell lead the way.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner suffered a quad injury Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, per NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala. Conner was just removed from the Covid-19 list last week and now looks like he’ll be limited in practice as the Steelers ready themselves for an AFC North matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers run game has been pretty much non-existent of late and even Conner couldn’t change that against the Bills. He had some early success, but has mostly been inconsistent. On the season Conner has rushed 155 times for 653 yards and a touchdown, while catching 25 passes for 145 yards.

The Steelers get an easier matchup this week against the Bengals, so should be able to get back on track somewhat with their running game, no matter if it’s Benny Snell or Conner out there. But a good showing might not be that meaningful against the woeful Bengals.
