Oregon will replace Washington in the Pac-12 Championship

The Ducks will play as the fill-in representative because Washington is unable to play due to Covid-19.

Because of continued Covid-19 issues for the Washington Huskies, the Oregon Ducks will replace UW in the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday against the USC Trojans in Los Angeles.

The Ducks and Huskies were scheduled to play each other last Saturday to determine the Pac-12 North representative in the title game, but Washington was forced to cancel the game due to Covid-19 protocols. But because they had the better record (3-1 for UW, 3-2 for Oregon), they were to advance to play 5-0 USC on Friday.

But one game cancelation has turned into two, and the Ducks will get their chance to repeat as Pac-12 champions. The winner of this game is guaranteed a major bowl berth as part of the New Year’s Six, likely to the Fiesta Bowl.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops, but for now it will be USC vs. Oregon on Friday night in Los Angeles for all the Tostitos.
