DeAndre Washington: Early waiver wire option in Week 15

DeAndre Washington worth consideration as an early waiver wire option in Week 15 as Dolphins leading rusher.

Myles Gaskin was unexpectedly placed on the Miami Dolphins’ Covid-19 list ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs and his absence led to a breakout game from DeAndre Washington. The backup running back showcased some impressive versatility on Sunday and could be a desirable waiver wire target if Gaskin misses a second straight game.

Matt Breida is also on the Covid-19 list and Salvon Ahmed is dealing with a shoulder injury so Washington could continue to be the feature back for at least another week. He logged 13 carries for 35 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards as well. Lynn Bowden was more of a factor as a pass catcher and caught a team-high seven passes for 82 yards and the two should split snaps moving forward while the Dolphins’ depth is struggling. Washington is widely available in season-long fantasy and is only rostered in 87 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues.
