The Sun Belt title will feature a pair of ranked teams with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. Both teams have a key signature win on the season, and the Sun Belt should be pretty excited about the talent it has atop of its conference. This should be among the most compelling conference title games across the Group of Five championships on Saturday.

How they got here
Coastal Carolina went through its 11-game regular season unscathed including an 8-0 record in Sun Belt play. Most will remember this Chanticleers for their game against BYU, which was scheduled just a few days before the game kicked off and was among the most fun games of college football’s regular season. Louisiana had its own moment of glory that came in the first game of the season, a 31-14 road win over Iowa State, which is competing for the Big 12 title this weekend. The Ragin’ Cajuns finished the season with a 9-1 overall record with the only loss coming to Coastal Carolina 30-27 at home on Oct. 14.
Bowl implications
Even with a victory to cap off an undefeated regular season, Coastal Carolina will still need help to compete in a New Year’s Six bowl game, which pretty much means the Chanticleers need Cincinnati to lose the AAC title to Tulsa. The winner of this game is most likely to be headed to the New Orleans Bowl, which goes to the top Sun Belt team, to play against a member of Conference USA.
