UPDATE: Davis has returned to the game and it likely was just an unwelcome shot to the groin that sent Davis to the sideline.

Carolina Panthers running back Mike Davis was hobbled by an injury in his team’s Week 14 matchup against the Denver Broncos. He left the game after being struck in the groin area on a run. Davis has tallied 20 rushing yards and a score on five carries and has also caught three passes for 22 yards. Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon will fill in for him if the injury continues to affect him throughout the contest.
