The UCF Knights McKenzie Milton, one of the leading quarterbacks in college football before suffering a life-threatening leg injury at the end of the 2018 season, will be transferring to Florida State according to Andrea Adelson of ESPN.
Adelson got an exclusive interview with the quarterback that had been running the scout team this year for the Knights.
“You see Florida State, the garnet and gold, it speaks for itself,” Milton said in an exclusive interview. “The notoriety the people that have come through there, Deion Sanders, Charlie Ward, Jameis Winston, it speaks for itself. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity. It’s something I don’t take for granted, especially what I’ve been through the past two years. It’s a very special opportunity, and I feel like we can get that thing turned around in the near future.”
Something to be noted is Milton never made an in-person visit to the campus, but knew FSU head coach Mike Norvell from the offenses he ran while in charge at Memphis. And while the burgers at Madison Social are terrific, good luck finding a place to park.
All of college football will be rooting for “KZ” as even putting a foot on the field after the surgeries and rehab he’s been through would be an incredible accomplishment.
Jordan Travis will be the incumbent starter at FSU, and he broke the single-season quarterback rushing record for the school yesterday in a 56-35 win over Duke.
