Point spread options to consider for Week 14 teasers

Teasers can add a little value to a larger line. We break down where there could be some quality options on the Week 14 slate at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The NFL is back for Week 14 Sunday, and it’s time to find some value on the betting market. If you’re not one to go all-in on a given point spread, teaser bets are an option for bringing down lines where you feel a little more comfortable. It forces you to tie together multiple outcomes, but it’s possible to find some intriguing value.

For newcomers to the world of teasers, the most basic teaser gives you six points on whatever line you’re playing. Using a Week 14 game as an example, DraftKings Sportsbook currently offers the Kansas City Chiefs as a 7-point road favorite against the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans as a 7-point road favorite against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Maybe you like both favorites, but don’t like laying a full touchdown on the road. If you teased them together, you would get the Chiefs and Titans as 1-point favorites in their respective games. It’s also worth noting you can tease a point spread with a point total and get six points added to an under or removed from an over.

The Chiefs, Titans, and Buccaneers all sit at a touchdown. The Packers and Saints are both 8.5-point favorites, which means a teaser brings them down below the key number of three. The Panthers are currently laying 3.5, which means they would move to +2.5 on a teaser. Similarly, the Bills, Ravens, Cardinals, and Colts all sit at -2.5, which moves them to +3.5 on a teaser.

From the point spreads, my favorite teaser teams are the Chiefs, Titans, Packers, and Panthers. If the Panthers were under a field goal, I’d say skip the teaser, but by losing the hook on the field goal, it increases the degree of difficulty just a little bit. A lot of people will likely back the Colts against the Raiders, but I actually think with Josh Jacobs and Trent Brown back, it could be worth teasing the Raiders or frankly otherwise just betting them outright for the moneyline upset.

The Seahawks are now 15-point favorites against the Jets, and I’m just not sure what to make of this game. The Jets stink, but we saw them starting to put some things together last week against the Raiders. The Seahawks are a step up in competition, but could another week of gelling help the Jets even without Jamison Crowder. That’s one I would stay away from this week.

There’s a lot of ways you can go with teasers. I like moving the bigger favorites down, but it depends on where that line is.
