Final status update: Swift is in fact ACTIVE for Week 14.

Game status: D’Andre Swift is ACTIVE for Week 14. Jumped the gun on this. Lions don’t play until the afternoon. That being said, Swift is expected to play.

Game day update: D’Andre Swift expected to play, per Adam Schefter.

Detroit Lions running back D’Andre Swift is listed as questionable for this week’s game against the Green Bay Packers. This time he’s dealing with an unspecified illness (but it’s not COVID.) He had been dealing with a concussion that had him out of action since Week 10, but he cleared the league’s protocol last week, before being sidelined by the current illness. The arrow is pointing toward him suiting up this week after he was able to get in a full practice session on Friday.

Fantasy impact: D’Andre Swift (illness)

Without Swift, the Lions have leaned on Adrian Peterson in the backfield, but his workload should see a steep dropoff this week with Swift closer to full strength. The last time Swift played he had 16 carries for 81 yards. He also caught all five targets thrown his way for 68 yards and a touchdown. He’s worth getting back into your fantasy lineup this week, even with a difficult game against the Packers. Peterson, however, does not have enough fantasy value with Swift back in action, so leave him out this week.
