The Philadelphia Eagles have a new starting quarterback. The team turned to rookie Jalen Hurts last week, in the middle of the game, after another awful outing from Carson Wentz. Hurts gets the start this week against the New Orleans Saints, giving Philly’s offense some actual hope for production for the first time this season. But what about his fantasy football outlook?
Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
Hurts completed five of 12 throws for 109 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in relief against the Packers last week. He also added another 29 rushing yards, another area that gives him some fantasy appeal.
We don’t have much to go, and using a rookie quarterback in your fantasy lineup in his first actual start is always a little risky, regardless of the player. The Saints defense is a tough matchup too; they haven’t allowed a quarterback to top 20 fantasy points since Week 8. But it’s not impossible. They won’t have much more scouting info on Hurts than the rest of us. The Saints haven’t played a quarterback this season who’s a threat on the ground like Hurts either. A more conservative fantasy player might be best advised to leave Hurts out of your lineup this week, but he might also deliver a solid production line if you need a streamer.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Jalen Hurts.
