What to do with Aaron Rodgers in Week 14 fantasy football

Aaron Rodgers looks to complete the sweep of the Lions this Sunday when the Packers travel to Detroit.

While many doubted that Aaron Rodgers could replicate the dominance he displayed during his MVP seasons, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has bounced back to deliver one of the finest performances of his career. His play has put him in a two-man race with Patrick Mahomes for the league MVP award and put the Green Bay Packers in position to win their division and potentially secure the top playoff seed in the NFC.

Fantasy Football analysis: Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

While the Packers no longer have the deep well of receiving talent they did a decade earlier, Rodgers has put himself on pace to set several career bests in major passing categories. He currently has the highest completion percentage of his career as a starter (68.9) and his average of three touchdown passes per game will likewise break his previous high if it holds. And while Rodgers does not run as regularly as he did during his physical prime, he remains a threat to pull out a drive-extending scramble at any time.

And though Rodgers has played well all season, he has caught fire the past three games. He has completed over 70% of his passes in each of those matchups while finishing with no fewer than three touchdowns. Rodgers torched the Chicago Bears’ highly ranked defense two weeks ago for 211 yards and four touchdowns.

This week’s matchup with the Detroit Lions offers little reason for concern. Detroit has struggled mightily against top-shelf quarterbacks this season, most recently giving up 318 passing yards and four touchdowns to the Houston Texans’ Deshaun Watson.
