Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season is underway and there are some interesting lines and betting splits worth taking note of ahead of this weekend’s action. We’ve identified a few things that stand out to us in Sunday’s 14-game slate. Here’s what you should keep an eye on. Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Tennessee Titans are fighting to stay in control of the AFC South and are overwhelmingly favored by the public against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tennessee is -360 on the moneyline and commands a whopping 94 percent of the handle and 91 percent of the total bets on moneyline wagers. Jacksonville has lost by a total of five points to the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns over the past two weeks and could make things interesting against the Titans’ lackluster defense though.
Sunday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions has the highest installed point total (55) in Sunday’s slate. The Packers have scored more points than any team in the NFL and will be expected to be the more productive offensive team. The Lions bounced back from their Week 13 blowout loss to the Houston Texans by topping the Chicago Bears but have been riddled with injuries that will limit their upside. The public has placed 86 percent of the handle on the over for point total wagers but the under could easily hit if Detroit doesn’t show up to play.
The public is split pretty evenly on who to bet on against the spread in the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets. Seattle hasn’t come close to becoming the powerhouse it was earlier in the year and was surprisingly upset by the New York Giants in Week 13. They’ve scored the fourth-most points in the NFL and are up against the lowest-scoring team in the league but only command 53 percent of the handle as 13.5 point favorites. I can see why the public isn’t as low on the Jets after they came within one play of topping the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 13. The Seahawks have only won by 10 points or more twice this season.
