Tale of the Tape for Gavin Tucker vs. Billy Quarantillo

In a featherweight battle on the main card of UFC 256, Gavin Tucker will fight Billy Quarantillo Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.

The 34-year-old Tucker walks into the octagon with a professional record of 12-1 and a two-match winning streak. This is his second bout in 2020 and fifth overall in the UFC. The last time “Guv’Nor” Tucker was in the octagon, he defeated Justin Jaynes by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 174 in August.

Before that fight, he defeated Seung Woo Choi at UFC 240 in May in Round 3 by rear-naked choke. The southpaw can throw down in the octagon using his striking and grappling skills. Tucker lands 3.67 significant strikes per minute, with 39 percent accuracy. He also absorbs 3.93 strikes per minute, while his defense is at 58 percent. As for grappling, the 34-year-old has a 1.91 takedown average per 15 minutes and 35 percent takedown accuracy. He also boasts a 1.9 submission average per 15 minutes.

Quarantillo enters the UFC APEX with a professional fighting record of 15-2 and an eight-match winning streak, plus he benefits from being a terrific guest here at DK Nation earlier this year picking some fights on video for us. The 32-year-old from Tampa will be fighting in his third UFC bout in 2020 and fifth overall. Quarantillo fought in September at UFC Fight Night 177, where he defeated Kyle Nelson in Round 1 by knockout.

Before joining the UFC in 2019, Quarantillo competed at King of The Cage, Absolute Fighting Championship, V3 Fights, Strike Off Fighting Championship, and Real Fighting Championships. He averages an insane amount of significant strikes at 7.51 per minute, with an accuracy of 71 percent. The 32-year-old fighter absorbs 3.45 significant strikes per minute and defends against them at 46 percent.

Lastly, he has a lower takedown average per 15 minutes than Tucker at 1.71, but his accuracy is better at 38 percent. He also possesses a 2.4 submission average per 15, while his defense is at 66 percent.
